‘3Link’ Front Suspension System
The ‘3Link’ front suspension system has been designed to allow the vehicle to achieve maximum front axle articulation whilst still retaining good overall driving performance. It’s design is developed from the basic principles of keeping things simple, easy to maintain and robust.
The system is made up of a number of key elements, these are :
- Combined axle frame/steering link protector
- Heavy duty vehicle specific 3rd link cross member
- Custom ‘I’ beam section outer radius arms & 3rd link
- Damper & bump stop mounts etc
Once installed the combined axle frame/steering link protector features a removable centre section for easy differential changing in the field if required. As the steering link passes through the centre of the axle frame it is offered immense protection from damage and will ride over obstacles instead of getting ‘hung up’ on them.
Modular design allows for different cross members to be supplied to suit specific vehicle applications. All bushes used in the ‘3Link’ system are standard Land Rover front radius arm poly bushes and thus offer the option of both soft or hard flex dependant upon type fitted.
The ‘3Link’ system will fit the following vehicle variants :
